 Bradford Byron Betz, LCDR, USN, Ret., 66 ESCONDIDO–Brad Betz went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February. 3, 2009. He was a young 66. He served as a naval aviator for over 20 years — three of those in Vietnam. Athletic, upbeat, kind, generous, and a Padres season ticket holder, he played in a hardball league for men 38 years and older. He is survived by his dedicated wife, Karen; mother, Jean; children, Bradford (Sydne), Bruce (Sylvia), Bennett (Cindy), and Beverly (Matt); 10 grandchildren, three step- children, Ryan, Paul, Megan, and his canines, Baylor and Bramble.
